Peggys Cove Dingy Haul Out metal print by Randy Sprout. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. 9X12 Pen & Ink Sketch on Water Color Paper: This is my favorite place to sketch and paint late in the afternoon, especially when the locals pull their dingys up to help me with my composition. I did this one in a big hurry to get the sun on the dingy, maybe 40 minutes. Just as I was setting up the owner of the dingy brought it up fromt he water and set it right there in the warm sunset lighting. It quickly became the subject. I wish I knew his name and address so I could send him a print in thanks, but I am still a little shy about asking.
About Randy Sprout
Randy Sprout began his art career in 1964 at the University of Iowa, with printmaking and studying with Mauricio Lasansky and Dr. John Schultz. He graduated with a BA in fine arts. In 1968 Army service in Korea interrupted his art for two years, after which he studied with Robert Heineken, Jan Stussy, Ray Brown, Sam Amato, Richard Diebenkorn and Stanton MacDonald-Wright, at the UCLA Graduate School of Fine Arts. He was awarded an MA in 1972 and an MFA in 1973. He had many shows during that time, including a One Man show at the Santa Barbara Art Museum. He also worked for LA County Museum of Art, with Ben Johnson, and restored many priceless prints for the Norton Simon Museum. In 1973, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to restore some...
